BioMar celebrates 60 years
September 30, 2022 By Hatchery International staff

BioMar Group celebrated its 60th anniversary with a glitzy celebration at Aquaculture Europe 2022.
The aquaculture feed company celebrated the milestone at Restaurant FronteMare in Rimini, Italy on Sept. 28 with more than 100 guests attending a 10-course dinner.
“We are delighted and grateful for each year that passed,” said Ole Christensen, vice-president of BioMar’s EMEA division. “Since we started our journey, we have continued working with the same dedication and passion, striving for innovating our feeds… Our ambition for a sustainable future goes beyond reducing our environmental footprint. It covers also regenerating our environment.”
Looking at the years ahead, Christensen said the company hopes to “open many new doors,” including a new aquafeed production facility to be built in Iceland.
At the Aquaculture Europe 2022 conference, the company also released new research on first feeding with its Larviva products. The research and development department aims to improve novel microdiets to aid in reducing the marine fish larvae’s dependence on live feed.
BioMar has partnered with Hatchery Matters to real-life testing of its diets.
