Fish Habitat Partnership Board seeking new board members

The National Fish Habitat Partnership Board is seeking nominations from organizations or people whose work and interests include fisheries and aquatic habitat conservation to fill vacant seats on the Board. 

They are looking for representatives from a variety of sectors to help the board implement the vision and requirements of the ACE Act and the National Fish Habitat Action Plan.

The Board– a voluntary association of public and private sector entities– is responsible for carrying out a cooperative nationwide program to protect, restore, and enhance, the habitats of the nation’s marine and freshwater fish populations.

They are soliciting nominations for four seats representing the following different sectors:

1. Corporate industry/term limit: three years
• Term expiration date: Feb. 7, 2027

2. Marine recreational anglers/term limit: three years
• Term expiration date: Feb. 7, 2027

3. A representative from any of the following/term limit: three years
• Term expiration date: Feb. 7, 2027
– The recreational sportfishing industry
– The commercial fishing industry
– Marine recreational anglers
– Freshwater recreational anglers
– Habitat conservation organizations and
– Science-based fishery organizations

4. Local government representative involved in fish habitat/term limit: three years
• Term expiration: Feb. 7, 2027

Individuals interested in filling any of the above vacant board seats should submit a letter of interest and vitae to info@fishhabitat.org by the close of business on Jan. 16, 2024. The letter of interest should include the seat you’re seeking, interests, experience, and skills to support active participation in and engagement on the board.
