Benchmark, a biotech company, has announced the appointment of Sverre Vormedal as sales and technical manager for the company’s customers in Iceland and the Faroe Islands.

Vormedal has been in the industry in various roles since 2011. His background includes work in service boats, fish farms, sales logistics, and quality management. Before joining Benchmark, he served as a biological controller at Arnarlax, an Icelandic farming company. He will work out of Benchmark’s office in Hafnarfjördur.

Vormedal holds an MSc in international fisheries management from the Arctic University of Tromsø (UiT) and a BSc in economics from the University of Bergen. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in law from Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences and Western Norway University of Applied Sciences.

“I look forward to joining the commercial team at Benchmark, where I will be responsible for our genetics customers in Iceland and the Faroe Islands. My goal is to provide sales and technical support, strengthening our position in these regions. I am excited to work closely with our customers, helping them find solutions that boost productivity and sustainability in their operations,” Vormedal said.

The new sales and technical manager will report to Kate Furhovden Stenerud, the commercial director salmon at Benchmark. “The team and I are excited to welcome Sverre on board. Iceland is a growing market for genetics, and we are confident that Sverre possesses the skills and experience necessary to effectively support our customers in this region, as well as in the Faroe Islands,” Stenerud said.
