Ron is the founder and CEO of Velocity Aqua – Aquaculture Entrepreneur Support Service and the host of “Think Tanks – The Sustainable Aquaculture Podcast.”

Dan Paynter

Dan Paynter

Manager of Animal Resources at Atlantic Veterinary College, University of Prince Edward Island

Dan Paynter has more than 10 years of experience in Prince Edward Island hatcheries. He started his career at Halibut PEI as an aquaculture technician. Over the years, he earned his experience to become the company’s general manager. His work earned him recognition in 2020 as one of Hatchery International‘s Top 10 Under 40. In 2021, Paynter became manager of the hatchery operations at Atlantic Aqua Farms Ltd., the largest grower and processor of Prince Edward Island Mussels. Now, he brings his experience to the academics as Animal Resources manager at the Atlantic Veterinary College at the University of Prince Edward Island.

 

Steve Pollock

Owner of Triple N Oyster Farm

Dr. Steve Pollock is a Canadian native that attended the University of Toronto (BSc) and York University (MSc). He completed a PhD at Louisiana State University and was a post-doctoral fellow at Stanford University studying how microalgae respond to changes in their environment. In 2015, Steve started an oyster farm in Grand Isle, LA. In 2017, he started an oyster nursery and in 2019, he started an inland oyster hatchery using an artificial seawater closed recirculating aquaculture system.

 

Paw Allan Tinghuus Petersen

CEO of OxyGuard International A/S

Electronic engineer, with speciality within measurement and control technology. Besides being CEO, Paw Petersen is technical manager for the design, planning, manufacturing, and commissioning of a large number of OxyGuard measuring, monitoring and control systems for aquaculture installations all over the world.
