First Aquaculture Forum for the Middle East

The first Middle East Aquaculture Forum (MEAF) will take place April 5-6, 2015 at the Dubai World Trade Centre in the United Arab Emirates.

The theme is Towards Sustainable Aquaculture in the Middle East.

         The forum will bring together aquaculture experts from throughout the Middle East and the world to focus on industry issues affecting the key aquaculture producing countries in the area. The forum will also offer specific topical industry sessions, technical sessions, and facilitated workshops and panel discussions.

           Plenary speakers include Dr. Michael Schwarz, Dr. Ahmad Al Ballaa, and Dr. Albert Tacon. Dr. Tacon will speak on, Future Feeds for a Growing Aquaculture Sector in a Hungry World. At present, Tacon is the aquaculture research director for Aquatic Farms Ltd. in Hawaii and a consultant to aquaculture organizations throughout the world.

         The event is sponsored by the European Aquaculture Society and the World Aquaculture Society, with the Arab Aquaculture Society, the Pakistani Aquaculture Society and the Saudi Arab Aquaculture society as affiliate sponsors.
