Bioled, a leading company in photoperiodic lighting, invites you to join our Photoperiod Webinar, this year focusing on lighting in Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS).
Bioled invites you to join the 7th International Photoperiod Webinar on 27-28 October 2020 at 9:30 (GMT-3). This webinar is organized by Bioled, a Chilean company specializing in aquaculture photoperiodic lighting. Bioled manufactures and sells submersible lamps for photoperiodic lighting systems mainly for the salmon industry. The company has more than 14 years of experience in the aquaculture industry, offering products, research, and solutions, to ensure the best results preventing early maturation and to optimize growth.
The event takes place over two days. The first day, the main topics are the management of the photoperiod in cold waters with emphasis on the prevention of early maturity and the environmental variables that influence the efficiency of photoperiod.
The second day we have a special session on photoperiodic lighting in RAS. For the opening 10-15 minutes there will be a brief presentation to give an overview of how lighting can optimize RAS farming. Then, there will be a panel discussion, where the panelists will give insights about the challenges and opportunities regarding photoperiodic lighting in RAS. The final part of the session will be dedicated to Q&A with the expert panel.
The panelists are highly experienced in the aquaculture field: David Cahill from Pure Salmon, Steve Summerfelt from Superior Fresh, Jónas Jónasson from Benchmark Genetics, Claudio .Garcia-Huídobro from Camanchaca and Vanessa Mella from Bioled
The moderator of the session is Dr. Jim Powell, who will soon celebrate his 40th year in the industry. Dr Powell is an expert in reproduction and the control of fish maturation.
