Danish aqua feed producer Aller Aqua has opened a new feed production facility in Secanj, Serbia, making it the company’s seventh factory serving the global aquaculture feed market.

With the new factory, Aller Aqua plans to fill the demand for carp feed in the region. Petar Pejčić and Dimitrije Matic will head the factory, supported by Aller Aqua’s head office.

“We have been present in Balkan for a long time, and had a wish of dedicating more resources to the area,” said Aller Aqua CEO and owner Hans Erik Bylling. “We are in a phase of rapid growth, and we are pleased to include Balkan and specifically Serbia in this growth. We see a lot of potential here.”

Aller Aqua produces feed for more than 30 different species of fish, and Carp is one of its core species. Carp production in Serbia accounts for approximately 85 percent of the country’s total aquaculture production, and this is where Aller Aqua will focus their efforts, the company said.
