Arvo-Tec is a specialist in the area of fish farming and feeding systems. The company has three types of feeders available for different kinds of needs; drum feeders, robots and centralised pipe feeding systems. Regarding drum feeders, the smallest hopper has capacity of 1 litre whereas the biggest has even 1 200 litres. Drum feeders are suitable for both hatcheries and outdoor farms. Accuracy of the drum feeder is very high (98%). Due to the accuracy, the maximum fish growth and health can be achieved together with cleaner water.

The feeding robot provides a solution for indoor fish farms having several fish tanks. The robot moves on a raised track and supplies the feed to each tank separately according to the specifications. The feed is spread across the tank, and the feeder has an automatic re-filling system. As the robot can supply even 240 tanks, single feeders are not needed, and operating costs are decreased.

The centralised pipe feeding system is optimised especially for fresh water or recirculation fish farms having large quantities of feed. The pipe system can blow the feed up to 300 meters. Main feed silos can be installed to the feed warehouse, providing easy refilling and service indoors.

In addition to the feeding solutions, the company has developed a computer-based control system. The system is a combination of feeding, measurement and alarm systems, and can be connected to various types of feeders that are available on the markets. Furthermore the system can be integrated to already existing production control/monitoring systems. The amount of needed feed is automatically calculated for each fish tank according to fish biomass data, incoming water temperature and oxygen content. The calculations are based on mathematical models (different models for different species) but as adaptability has been a priority in the development, modifications can be done according to clients' needs.
