AquaOptima 15 years as RAS supplier

AquaOptima is one of the leading suppliers in RAS, and continue to expand its activity throughout the world.

The “heart” in the AquaOptima technology is the ECO-TRAP, a patented system for solids removal that removes settled particles directly from tank. To remove suspended solids AquaOptima is using the micro-screen belt filter from the Norwegian company Salsnes Filter AS.  These filters have a more gentle way of removing the particles than drum-filters and thus gives water with less small particles. AquaOptima has now entered into cooperation with AnoxKaldnes, the patent owner of the moving bed technology for biofilm reactors, and from now on using the Kaldnes™ MBBR (moving bed biofilm reactor) as biofilter. This is the most effective biofilm process, and very low in maintenance as no flushing and cleaning is needed. Use of moving bed technology and ECO-TRAP solids removal system gives a complete process that require less area than other systems.

Ozone is used to reduce organic content in water and gives good clearness of water so the fish farmer can easily observe fish all the way to the bottom of the tank.
